See, first you drink... then you draw!
AUGUST DRINK & DRAW REPORT
The report is a bit late this time round.
The first Drink & Draw at Clark’s since May! It’s a great place to meet for drawing and the consumption of alcohol. Mmmmm boy.
We had a great crowd, about 15 total over the course of the night! A number of brand new people who had never been to a Drink & Draw before! A lot of talent was active that night.
An observation was made about Clarks. the first floor (bar level) is fantastic for quick sketching, doodling, life drawing (due to the variety of people hangning around there). The second floor is a great spot to plant down and work on a larger project. Space for drawing boards, paints, jars, Marker sets...
Which reminds me of something funny that happened. I was sitting down on the first level, chatting with Dave... when something "ploink!" fell into his wineglass! we looked up, saw an AC vent, lights, and the tall tall ceiling... and we at first thought "whoa, the ceiling is coming apart and falling!". One of us was about to talk to someone at the bar, but the other fished out the item, and it was a marker cap! it had fallen from Jeff's table above and landed right in Dave's glass. He was lucky it fell there, or else that marker would've dried out before the end of the night.
The Jar of art materials was not claimed by the two women who left it at MAy's Drink & Draw. I'll keep bringing it to the events, so if you're out there, know it is safe.
I will have scans of artwork from August's Java-Draw and Drink & Draw uploaded later today. INCLUDING the flyer for September’s Java-Draw and Drink & Draw! The flyer which features the artwork of the WINNERS of August’s Art Challenge! All will be announced later this evening.
